RETREAT
The snail-
Hid inside
Weak at heart-
Protected by its own
shadow
Kicked by many-
Protected by the
shell
The snail lived
As the shield never
cracked.
The snail one day-
Felt a benevolent
caress
It crawled its way
out-
To see light
Indeed it was
beautiful-
A world it never
imagined
A fresh beginning
A new life.
From the black pit-
It was the rainbow in
the sky
From the echo of its
own heart beat-
It was melody of
sounds
From the numbness-
There was freedom of
expression
Everything seemed
perfect!
Was it an illusion?
The shell had cracked-
The shield was
shunned
Protected by the
godmother-
Company for the
lonely
Fear of being hurt-
Was forgotten
The barrier of
isolation-
Was crossed.
Carried away by -
Sudden burst of
liberation
Diverted by -
Unexpected gust of
bliss
As it defied laws -
The snail hit the
rocks
Hoping the godmother-
Will always protect
in adversity.
The snail ignored -
And was hurt
The snail deviated -
And was kicked
The snail sinned
And was tormented-
It needed shelter
But the shell had
cracked
The snail-
Hoped it could rewind
-
Wished it never
peeped out
The snail-
Tries hard to rebuild
-
The protection
The snail-
Recedes slowly -
Searching for indemnity.
