MY FIRST POEM (written on 30.5.2002)

IMAGINOR

I wish ! I wish! I wish!
I was the President-
With the Rashtrapati Bhavan as my residence-
With lots of famous people to meet-
And lots of delicacies to eat-
Reducing my country’s problems to zero-
And becoming a national hero.

I wish I were a pilot,
And fly planes so high,
Listen with the headphones,
High up in the sky.
But oh! That’s not possible,
Because I wear a spectacle!!

Then I would opt to be a cricketer-
Turning down McGrath’s glare,
With lot of guts-
And keeping my mouth shut.

Although all these are only thoughts-
And problems are to be fought-
I wish one of the dreams become realistic,
That would make my life fantastic.
Oh! I wish! I wish! I only wish!
